Heat Pump Dryer

After 6 months of umming are arring we decided to go ahead and purchase a heat pump dryer. We went for a Samsung A+++ rated series 6 model at a cost of £745.

We were hesitant to make the switch mainly due to the cost, but we also had some reservations about the performance as it’s technology was so different than our more conventional condensing model.

Does it get your clothes dry?

Pleasantly, yes it does. However, there are a few gotcha’s. You do need to make sure clothes are not tucked into themselves and you probably need a slightly smaller load than with a conventional dryer but rest assured a heat pump dryer WILL dry your clothes!

Does it reduce moisture?

This was the overriding factor for us to switch from our condensing dryer to a heat pump dryer. The condensing dryer (not surprisingly) increased the humidity levels in our home enormously, so much so that we began battling with mold on weekly basis.

The humidity levels in our flat are still extremely high but they’ve gone down by about 10% since we switched dryers which is a huge win.

Does it reduce energy consumption?

It most definitely does.
